What Is ACP | Applications of ACP Sheet | Advantage of ACP Sheet | Disadvantages of ACP Sheet
What Is ACP Sheet?
The ACP is a short form of Aluminum composite panel, it is also known as the sandwich panel. The aluminum composite panel is a joint invention of the 3A composites company with BASF in 1964.
The aluminum composite panel is a composite material in which the fire-retardant core and thermoplastic polythene are sandwiched between two thin aluminum sheets. Polythene spreads and sparks the fire and also not a fire-resistant substance.
We have to check also that the core material is fire-resistant before buying the ACP panel. In the type C building project, the Polythene Core Panel is being used.
Types of ACP Sheet
There are three types of ACP sheet that’s are below-
- Type A
- Type B
- Type C
1. Type A
In type A, the structure covering above four floors and is the most fire-resistant method of architecture.
2. Type B
To protect three storage building types B ACP is used.
3. Type C
Wherein one to two-story buildings were built type C is the least fireproof mode of construction is used. Recent experience has shown during the fire plastic polythene core with the aluminum composite panel caught fire easily.
It should be noted that the no aluminum composite panel is fireproof, it just only fire code compliant. The melting point of Aluminum has a medium of about 660 °C. During the burn, the temperatures would be about 800 to 900 °C, which will burn the heart and destroy the skin.
The common thickness of the aluminum composite panel is 6 mm, 4 mm, and 3mm thick. The aluminum composite panel is generally used in indoor activates like dust protecting, cladding, show signs, purification, etc.
Applications of ACP Sheet
There have many applications of ACP sheets that are below-
- Facade or Cladding.
- Applying as a Partitions
- Interiors
- Signage
1. Facade or Cladding
The application of ACP sheet in interiors for high longevity and versatility and could be used for cladding in exterior construction. The application of the ACP sheet is it will be surviving the strict tear and wear of UV Resistant and prolong the life of the establishment.
2. Applying as a Partitions
These days, at the maximum optimal level all the office systems do use a sufficient floorarea and they are using internal panels to do this. As a material, the aluminum composite panel shall be needed to be used for the making of these partitions. In the spectrum of partitioning products, the aluminum composite panel has become one of the most cost-effective
3. Interiors
The most common application of aluminum composite panel is, for bookshelves, wardrobes and other furniture units have become more simple to make, as they are attractive and sleek. Because they are stain and water-resistant as well as lightweight, even though they are sturdy for this we can apply ACP sheets.
4. Signage
For its flexible exterior signs, the ACP is used to render a wide variety, as hoardings and signage are being used for exterior applications. For this reason, ACP is the best material for building construction.
Why Choose ACP Sheet?
Nowadays in construction, the ACP sheets are widely used because of the following reasons-
- In building construction, the aluminum composite panel is chosen because of its lightweight.
- It is chosen for, it is easy to install from other material.
- This is chosen because the ACP material is robust and easy to manage.
- In building construction, the aluminum composite panel is chosen because it is cost-effective.
- Another reason for choosing the ACP sheet is that, it is very easy to deal with.
- In the building construction, the aluminum composite panel is chosen for provides a broader spectrum of textures as well as color
- Another reason for choosing the ACP sheet because it can be built pretty quickly.
ACP Sheet Price
Upon many things, the price of the aluminum composite panel depends likes its core material, overall thickness, coating, etc. Roughly the price of PVDF coating will be available in the market at 75 square feet and the price of 3 meters fireproof ACP sheet with polythene core.
The estimated price of the ACP sheet is provided below
[su_table responsive=”yes” class=”rk”]
Composite Panel Type | Min Price |
Max Price |
Designer | Rs, 60/Square Feet | Rs 180/Square Feet |
Marble Wooden | Rs, 55/Square Feet | Rs 200/Square Feet |

Advantages & Disadvantages of ACP Sheet
Advantage of ACP Sheet
There have many pros of ACP sheets that are below-
- The advantage of the ACP sheet is, it is weather and stain-resistant, durable, etc.
- The advantage of ACP sheet in interiors for high longevity and versatility and could be used for cladding in exterior construction.
- The advantage of the ACP sheet is it will be surviving the strict tear and wear of UV Resistant and prolong the life of the establishment.
- As a material, the aluminum composite panel shall be needed to be used for the making of these partitions. This is another advantage of ACP sheets.
- In the spectrum of partitioning products, the aluminum composite panel has become one of the most cost-effective
- The most common advantage of the aluminum composite panel is, for bookshelves, wardrobes and other furniture units have become more simple to make, as they are attractive and sleek.
- Another advantage of the Aluminium Composite Panel is; it allows hassle-free maintenance.
- Because they are stain and water-resistant as well as lightweight, even though they are sturdy for this we can apply ACP sheets.
- The advantage of the Aluminium Composite Panel is; it provides a fireproof option because it is not burned.
- For its flexible exterior signs, the ACP is used to render a wide variety, as hoardings and signage are being used for exterior applications.
- The advantage of ACP is, it is the best material for building construction.
- These days, at the maximum optimal level all the office systems do use a sufficient floorarea and they are using internal panels to do this.
Disadvantages of ACP Sheet
There have many cons of ACP sheets that are below-
- The disadvantage of the aluminum composite panel is, it is a partly portion so, its strength is not good for the single part of the panel.
- Another disadvantage of the aluminum composite panel is, for this panel works experienced labor is needed.
- The disadvantage of the aluminum composite panels is, the adequate waterproofing has to be done and the joints have to be carefully sealed.

ACP Sheet
Aluminum composite panels or ACP sheet are new-age material that’s used for building front elevation (facades), interiors, signage, modular kitchen and many more. It is available in a wide range of colours and textures like wood, stone, sand, 3d etc.
Aluminium Composite Signage
Some of its many uses include channel letters for signage, point-of-purchase displays, exhibition kiosks, digital and screen printing, performance sets, specialty vehicles, and building and construction applications like architectural cladding, insulation, and wall linings.
Aluminum Composite Panel near Me
Fabricated acm typically ranges anywhere from $15-‐$35 per sf of coverage area in the majority of situations. The vast range in cost can be contributed to the many fabricators and their unique engineered systems, color selections, paint finishes, architectural design, orientation, thickness and type of plank material.
Polyethylene Core Aluminium Composite Panels
Firstly, an aluminium composite panel with polyethylene core (pe) is a panel that has a thermoplastic polyethylene material at its core surrounded by two thin sheets of aluminium. Pe core composite panels offer benefits like rigidity, light weight, ease of fabrication and adaptability.
